  How much experience does your company have?

  We have been designing and maintaining our own website, and sites for others, since 2004. Our own site is quite extensive and consists of various sections, including an online store, a guestbook, a photo gallery, and much more.
  
  We are very knowledgeable in HTML, CSS, PHP, and MySQL, and we also have a working knowledge of JavaScript and Flash. We work continuously to enhance and improve our skills.

Design Process

  When will my website be ready?

  The length of the design process will depend on various factors such as site size, condition of content provided by client, additional services needed, and our current workload. Generally the process will take between 7 and 30 days. When you contact us and give us an idea of what you are looking for and when you need your site available, we will give you our best estimate regarding production time.
  
  As a client, you will affect the production time as well. Whenever our work depends on client input, answers, or materials, we may be delayed until those items are provided. It is therefore very important that you stay in touch and promptly respond to any inquiries from us during the process.

  I don't have any photos for my site; where can I get photos/images?

  There are many options for obtaining photos/images for your website. If you run a business and have a digital camera, take some photos of your establishment (inside and outside), your products, and anything else you feel represents what you do. If you feel you're not a great photographer, we can perform some basic retouching (e.g., adjusting brightness, enhancing colors, cropping) to your digital photos at no extra charge. If your photos are unusable or require time-consuming adjustments or improvements, we'll discuss other options/additional fees with you.
  
  You may also look for photos/images online. This option requires that you choose photos/images that are either in the public domain or that allow you to purchase usage rights. Please ensure that the use of any third-party images does not violate any copyrights. Sites such as Fotolia and Dreamstime offer millions of royalty-free images at reasonable prices (sometimes even free). You may purchase such images yourself or have us purchase them and add the cost to your final total.
  
  If you are within 30 miles of Peru, NY, we can visit your establishment and take digital photos for you. The associated fee will be based on the distance we must travel to and from your location and the amount of time we spend taking photos.

  We can create fairly simple graphics for various elements of your website. For instance, we may create small graphics to be used in your navigation scheme or as background images.

  We have excellent writing and editing capabilities on-staff. Any text content provided by you must be accurate as well as clean (free of misspellings and grammatical errors). If you require us to write and/or edit content for you, or if the content you provide requires editing or corrections, we will discuss options and fees with you once we have an idea of how much time and work will be involved in developing quality textual content for your website. As book publishers, we have extensive experience in copywriting and editing. You want to have a professional-looking website, which requires clean textual content.
  
  Please bear in mind that, even if you decide to have us write your content for you, you must provide us with as much information about your business as possible. No one knows your business better than you.

  Can you create a logo for my business?

  Generally, we do not create graphics other than those incorporated into a website (e.g., background images/patterns, navigation buttons). We are willing to discuss logo options and requirements with you to see if we are equipped to create what you desire, but graphic design is not our specialty (our specialty is building attractive, functional websites using clean, up-to-date, and valid code). You are also welcome to have a graphics design firm create your logo and then save some money by having us build your website. However your logo is created, we will incorporate it into the website we design for you.

  What colors can I use for my website?

  We will typically generate a color scheme centered on your company logo colors or some other colors associated with your business/activity. However, if you have certain colors in mind, let us know. We do recommend choosing darker colors for text and lighter colors for backgrounds for better readability, but every site is different and some other color scheme may work better for your site.

  What fonts can I choose for my site's textual content?

  Generally, websites use sans-serif fonts (e.g., Arial, Verdana) for screen display, as opposed to serif fonts, (e.g., Times New Roman) typically used in printed materials. There was a time when the web was rather restrictive and web-safe fonts (e.g., Arial, Times New Roman) were the best option. These fonts exist on most computers and devices, so visitors were more likely to see your website as you intended. Less common fonts would only be seen by visitors with those fonts installed on their devices. Others would see a substitute font.
  
  Today, services like Google Fonts exist, allowing websites to access hundreds of different fonts. The fonts are free to use and are retrieved from Google's servers, eliminating the worry that visitors must have the chosen font(s) installed on their devices.
